Look! It’s my first ever tag! It’s called the ‘Book Blogger Insider Tag’ and it’s a few bookish questions, and my answers to them. I was tagged by A Book. A Thought. blog , and the tag itself was originally created by A Little Slice of Jamie . I won’t tag anyone else when I’m done, but if you think it looks like fun, go ahead and do it anyway! Here goes!

– Where do you typically write your blog posts?

On my laptop, usually at the coffee table in the living room, occasionally at the dining table. I have to be alone when I’m writing my posts, I get really self conscious for some reason if anyone else is around me while I’m doing it!

How long does it generally take you to write a book review?

Not that long at all, once I actually sit down to write it. I don’t tend to follow a set structure, I like to just start typing and get my feelings about the book down, then I’ll refine it as I go along. So probably on average, about half an hour.

-When did you start your book blog?

I started The Reading Nook in December of 2018, after reading some brilliant books and having nobody to talk to about them. It feels like it’s been a lot longer though. In a good way!

-What is the worst thing about having a book blog in your opinion?

This is an interesting one! I mean, there aren’t that many negatives in my opinion – I wouldn’t continue with it if it was negatively impacting me. I think the one ‘negative’ is that I feel more pressure to get through books in a quicker time than I did before I began blogging. And I find myself thinking of what I will say in a review of a book as I’m reading it, and have to remind myself to just read the book and then decide what I think of it.

-What is the best thing about having a book blog in your opinion?

The best thing is absolutely the book blog community that I’ve discovered since starting my blog. I know there are quite a few negative things being said about it at the moment but luckily I haven’t encountered it, I’ve only seen the supportive, positive side of it. Also, another great thing about having a book blog is the fact that it pushes me to read more – I said the pressure to get through books quicker was a negative, but it also motivates me to pick up more books, and to try different books too.

-What blog post have you had the most fun writing so far?

Honestly, I can’t think of one particular post. Obviously I love writing positive reviews, and I adore writing reviews of a book that I absolutely loved, because I get to gush about it, but no one particular post stands out in my mind.

-What is your favourite type of blog post to write?

Positive reviews, and monthly wrap ups!

-When do you typically write?

Whenever I get the living room to myself haha! Generally I will try to write a few posts on my days off of work, or free evenings that I have.

-Do you review every book you read?

So far, since beginning the blog, yes I have reviewed every book I have read. Sometimes, when I don’t particularly like a book, I’m tempted not to review it, but that’s part and parcel of a book review blog I guess!

-How do you write your book reviews? With a cup of coffee or tea? With Netflix? Cuddled with your fur baby?

I usually write my book reviews with the copy of the book beside me, with a glass of water and as much silence as possible so I can put my thoughts into order. I’m one of those abominations that doesn’t drink tea OR coffee!

-When do you write your book reviews? Right after finishing the book? Two weeks after finishing the book?

I always try my best to write my reviews within a day or two of finishing the book. Any longer than that and I’m usually halfway through my next book and the characters start to get confused and the story isn’t clear in my head.

-How often do you post?

I don’t really have a strict posting schedule, I do usually try to post every second day if I can, but sometimes it’s just not possible.

I really enjoyed answering these questions, this was a fun tag to have as my first! Like I said above, I’m not tagging anyone in it, but you’re all more than welcome to try it if you think it sounds fun!
