Welcome! This is the Quick Fire book tag, where you have to put the first answer that pops into your head when answering the questions! I discovered this tag over at The Bibliophile Girl and had to give it a go! (She called it the Rapid Fire Book Tag but I got the name wrong and didn’t feel like changing the image, so I’m sticking with Quick Fire!)
1. E-Book or physical book?
Physical books everytime. Can’t beat the feeling of a book in your hands, and real pages to turn.
2. Paperback or hardback?
Paperback. Hardbacks usually look amazing but they’re unwieldy and hard to read in bed…they’re more weapon, less book sometimes!
3. Online or in-store book shopping?
In store. Online can be cheaper sometimes but I love browsing a bookstore. And having to wait for deliveries is a pain.
4. Trilogies or series?
No preference – sometimes a trilogy is plenty, sometimes a story needs more than that.
5. Heroes or villains?
I like heroes that turn out to be villains and vice versa. But usually I’m cheering for the good guys.
6. A book you want everyone to read?
Either To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, or The Alchemist by Paolo Coehlo.
7. Recommend an underrated author?
I’m drawing a blank here!
8. The last book you finished?
One Way Out by A.A. Dhand.
9. Weirdest thing you’ve used as a bookmark?
I don’t use bookmarks, I’m an evil creature who dog ears her books.
10. Used books – yes or no?
Yes! Once they’re not falling apart. I love pre-loved books.
11. Top three favourite genres?
Romance, Thriller and Crime
12. Borrow or buy?
Buy if possible. I love using my local library of course, but I do love owning the books I read.
13. Character or plot?
Plot. Good characters are useless if the plot isn’t good.
14. Long or short books?
Both. I love a long juicy book, but sometimes a quick read can be just what you need.
15. Name the first three books you think of?
Normal People by Sally Rooney (because it’s right in front of me). One Way Out by A.A. Dhand (because I just reviewed it) and Maker Of Footprints by Sheila Turner Johnston (because I reviewed it last week and I can’t stop thinking about it)
16. Books that make you laugh or cry?
Cry. I find I laugh easily at books, but it takes a really special book to make me cry.
17. Our world or fictional?
Depends on the fictional world doesn’t it? Most of them have seriously scary villains in them, so I’m going to stick with our world I think!
18. Audiobooks, yes or no?
No, just never took to them!
19. Do you ever judge a book by its cover?
All the time.
20. Book to movie or book to tv?
Book to tv I think, more time means more development and more faithful to the book.
21. A movie or tv show that you preferred to the book?
It hasn’t happened yet!
22. Series or standalones?
Depends on the book, there are some standalones that I would love to be made into a series, and some series that should have stopped with the first book!
I’m not tagging anyone in this, anyone can feel free to do the tag, it’s a fun and quick one!
