When The Curtain Falls – Carrie Hope Fletcher

‘In 1952, two young lovers, Fawn Burrows and Walter Brown, meet backstage in a beautiful West End theatre during a production of When The Curtain Falls. My Top 5 Books of 2018
As 2018 comes to an end, I’m looking back at the books I’ve read this year. There have been some incredible books, and some that weren’t so incredible..and some that I just did not like at all! I’ve just about managed to narrow down my favourite 5 books – not all of them are from this year, I just happened to discover them this year. So, without further ado, in no particular order..
I Am Pilgrim – Terry Hayes

I Am Pilgrim is the 25th book I’ve read this year, and it’s the last one I’ll finish before the year is out, and I don’t think I could have chosen a better book to end the year on. I’m not exaggerating when I say that this book is incredible.
Skin Deep – Liz Nugent

People have been going crazy for this book this year so I knew I had to get my hands on it, just to see if it lived up the the hype. I am happy to say that it really, really does.
Skin Deep introduces us to Delia, a child who lives with her mother, father and younger brothers on the remote island of Inishcrann, off the coast of Mayo. Isolated from the mainland by the ocean between them, and further isolated from the island by her father, Delia is besotted with her father, who dotes on her, and tells her that she is the queen of the island and that there is nobody like her.
Dream A Little Dream – Giovanna Fletcher

What would you do if faced with the man of your dreams…kind of? That’s the subject matter of Giovanna Fletcher’s novel, Dream A Little Dream.
The story revolves around Sarah and her gang of friends, including, awkwardly enough, her ex boyfriend Dan and his girlfriend ‘Perfect’ Lexie.
Reading challenge…with a twist!

I’ve decided that 2019 is going to be a big reading year for me. I usually set myself a challenge on Goodreads (my holy grail app!) and I still will, but this time around I’m going to reward myself – for every book I finish, I’m going to pop €2 in a jar. At the end of the year, I’m going to take whatever money I have made, and (hopefully) go on a book buying spree with it!
I read about this idea on Facebook and loved it! Reading is a rewarding hobby anyway mentally but it’s fun to put a little monetary reward there too!

I may move to Iceland..
A Small Dark Quiet – Miranda Gold

This is a difficult book for me to review because I’m not entirely sure what I thought or how I felt about it. I found it difficult to get through, but there were also times that I couldn’t put it down.
A Small Dark Quiet tells the story of Arthur, a Jewish boy adopted from Germany by Sylvie and Gerald, a young married couple in England.
